Mosaic Workshops for Children
Every School holidays at FLOREAT

Our History

Wembley Studio

Workshed Mosaics was established in 1998 in Wembley.

Paul and Lisa Petale decided to start a family business to build creative inspiration in the community. Through a love of mosaic and ceramic art, Workshed Mosaics was born. Our first classes filled quickly and we kept expanding, learning and refining our techniques.

We have specialised in ceramic mosaic art, cutting and shaping tiles by hand using a wide range of tools and techniques.

Over 14 years, the business grew in its prominent Wembley location.  Here, many hundreds of students, ranging from beginners to advanced, learned and developed their skills in our workshop environment. We held exhibitions of our student's work and many of our students have gone on to establish themselves as mosaic artists.

Since its beginning, the labour of love grew passionately, with many projects in the wider community. This has included large and small-scale commission works, community workshops and the popular childrens' mosaic classes.

Home Studio, New Locations and Beyond

In 2008, we sadly bid farewell to our Wembley location and re-established ourselves in our purpose-built home studio.

Workshed Mosaics was now mobile, with the ability to set up workshops and demonstrations at other locations. We undertook several trips to regional centres in WA and set up our Childrens' Mosaic Classes at our Floreat location.

With the relaunch of our website to include a booking system, we look forward to growing even more and bringing our love of mosaics to even more people.
