Mosaic Incursion - Dalkeith Primary School

Posted by Rebecca Petale on 10 December 2015
Today we visited Dalkeith Primary School for a mosaics incursion. 3 Classes from Year 2 participated and chose from our small shapes programme. As it is now close to Christmas, we had quite a few festive shapes alongside our regular ones! We ran the mosaic program inside their art room and grouted all the pieces outside. There was truly some outstanding work from these children! We always love to see how children interpret their pieces - they choose colours and combinations tha...

In 2014 we created a topographical mosaic map of the Canning River that was installed on a wall opposite the administration building, each child mosaiced a 'water drop' in a freeform style and these individual droplets were then combined into a larger mosaic. Over 550 water drops span...

Mosaic Competition Winners!

Posted by Paul Petale on 23 March 2015
Congratulations to our 'Design a Face' Mosaic Competion winners!! We had so many interesting and creative entries that it was very hard to choose between them. All of the participants should be very proud of their artistic talents! We asked children to design a shape for our mosaics list that would be unique and fun. We'll be adding these shapes to our list later in the year (with a few other changes as well - make sure to keep an eye out for the announcement!) Our winn...
